Brief Description
Kedarnath Dham, located in the Rudraprayag District of Uttara[1]khand in the lap of the Garhwal Himalayas, is an integral part of the Char Dham Yatra, which includes Yamunotri, Gangotri and Badrinath. It is said that the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva to relieve themselves from the guilt of killing their blood relatives. Other accounts relate that it was originally established as a pilgrimage site by Adi Shankara in the ninth century. It is believed that Shankara resided in the place for six years from CE 814 to 820. He resided six months in Badrinath and the rest of the year in Kedarnath. Day 1 - From Haridwar to Guptkashi (8 hrs)
Drive220 kmAlt1319 m. Morning meet our representative at your Airport / Railway Station / Hotel. Drive towards Guptkashi. Enroute you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. The Mandakini river comes from Kedarnath, drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi, visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in Guptakashi. Overnight stay at Guptakashi. (Meals: Dinner)
Day 2 - From Guptkashi to Sonprayag to Kedarnath
Drive30 kmTrek14 kmAlt3384 m. Morning after breakfast, today we will go to Kedarnath. To reach Kedarnath you will have two options. One if by trekking and other is by Air via Helicopter (at your own cost). After reaching the Kedarnath visit Kedarnath Temple. Check in to the hotel/ashram. Visit Shankaracharya Samadhi. Overnight stay at Kedarnath. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)
Day 3 - From Kedarnath to Sonprayag to Guptkashi
Trek14 kmDrive30 km. Morning after breakfast explore nearby areas by walk at Kedarnath. Later reach Guptkashi as per your choice by trek or Helicopter. Gaurikund to Sonprayag local jeep at your own cost. Guests can book that at own cost. At arrival check in to hotel in Guptkashi. Overnight stay at Guptkashi. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)
Day 4 - From Guptkashi to Badrinath (9 hrs)
Drive220 kmStayHotel. Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath. Check in to the hotel arrival in Badrinath. Overnight stay at Badrinath. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner) Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in the evening. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spots like Mana village, Vyas Gufa, Mata Murti Temple, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within the three km of Badrinath Ji. Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Day 5 - From Badrinath to Dehradun/ haridwar/Rishikesh drop approx 300 km 10h drive
Last day of the do dham yatra. Today we will move towards the pickup destination.
