Detail Itinerary

Day 1 - Rishikesh to Lohajung (9-10hrs)

The drive from Kathgodam to Lohajung takes around 9-10 hours, with one or two stops along the way to have breakfast and lunch. Travel through the Kumaon area and the Shivalik mountain ranges' valleys. The route winds through beautiful trees and bends, with breathtaking mountain vistas in the distance. There is a direct road between Gwaldam and Deval, but it has been destroyed by recent rains, therefore the other route is recommended. Deval is the starting point for our journey to Lohajung. The majority of the route is winding and twisty. The temperature is chilly, and even after gaining altitude, the weather stays wet and foggy for the most part. Stay here over night and have dinner too.

Day 2 - Lohajung to Bekaltal (4-5hrs)

The pathway to Lohajung's higher section is a well-marked, stone-paved path. Pass through a wooded area with residences on the outskirts. After a short distance, you will reach the settlement of Mandoli. After climbing, enter the Kail valley, which is fed by the Pindari and Kail rivers. Water pipelines that bring water to Lohajung may be seen ahead. Stop for a while and continue trekking; you will now see several buildings together with Rhododendron trees that are collectively known as Budla. Begum is reached after crossing a creek and passing via a bridge. The Navali Bugyal will seize your attention up ahead. You will reach “Gujrani” after crossing one more stream and ascending for an hour. There are many streams in this region, the water is pure and clean, and you can refill your bottles if you wish. Trek for another hour and a half to reach Bekaltal, a lake with grassy sides ideal for camping. This lovely lake is surrounded by an oak grove. You'll come across another beautiful lake called "Khopdaliya." Pitch your tents by the lake, wait for the excellent cuisine to be served, and then retire to your tents for the night.

Day 3 - Bekaltal to Brahmatal (5-6hrs)

The rise to Brahmtal begins as soon as you leave the campground, with a hike through Rhododendron and Oak woods. After passing through this stretch, you'll reach a meadow, where you'll begin a steady rise to the summit. When you reach the top, begin descending until you reach Brahmatal. A spectacular high-altitude glacier lake that remains frozen during the winter. Almora and Nainital side valleys will be visible during the trip, as will Mt. Nanda Ghunti and Mt. Trishul from certain vantage points. The campground is located a short distance from Brahmatal Lake and is easily visible, however if the weather changes and significant snowfall occurs, we will stay in Khabekhal. Arrive to the campground after passing through a wooded region. Set up your tents and retire for the night after eating.

Day 4 - Brahmatal Summit to Daldum Camp (6-7hrs)

You will gain altitude on today's trip, which is an uphill one. Begin trekking and arrive at Chota Jhandidar after an hour. Chota and Bada Jhandidar will take you to the summit; the path is zigzagging and surrounded on all sides by valleys. It will take around 2-3 hours to complete the difficult ascent. Brahmatal Top offers a beautiful view of the Himalayas, which is enhanced by the pure blue sky. The views of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti from the top are considerably clearer than the previous day, and they are breathtaking. The panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges will leave you speechless. Descend and make your way to Daldum camp. By crossing a thick woodland stretch, you may get there in 3 hours. Set up your tents, prepare some food, and retire for the night.

Day 5 - Daldum Camp to Lohajung (2-3hrs)

Our home stay is based on a twin-sharing basis. After breakfast, descend through the woodland region, travelling 3 kilometres in 2 to 3 hours to reach Lohajung. In half an hour, you'll be in Malling. Some buildings on the hills are now visible. Follow the stone-paved road that the locals regularly use. Get to Lohajung. Have supper in a hotel that you've pre-booked and spend the night there.

Day 6 - Lohajung to Rishikesh (9-10 hrs)

Today is your last breakfast with the Himalayan Hikers team on this journey. The certificates will be presented, and we will wish you all farewell from the Lohajung and Brahmatal trip after some lovely photographs.
