Brief Description

The Har Ki Dun and Ruinsara Lake trip is a moderate, beginner-friendly hike. This journey will take you to the beautiful Har Ki Dun valley and the picturesque Ruinsara lake, which is situated among snow-capped mountains.

 

The trip takes you through lush woods of fir, pine, and rhododendron in the Govind National Park to reach the two sites, and it is a combination of pleasant stroll and challenging ascents. A section of the trail follows a river and passes through beautiful meadows. The journey begins in Har Ki Dun, also known as the Valley of Gods, which is located deep within the Govind Pashu National Park.

 

The route is covered in colorful orchids and hundreds of wildflowers, and it is recognized for its diverse flora and wildlife. The Ruinsara Lake, a holy lake on the opposite side of Swargarohini Peak from Har Ki Dun, is noted for its crystal clear water and snow-capped mountains as a background. The Black Peak, the highest peak in the Banderpunch Group of mountains, may also be seen on this hike.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 - From Dehradun to Sankri

You will be picked up from the Dehradun Railway Station at 06:30 a.m. today and taken to Sankri. It's a long journey over a beautiful route, with the final part passing through Govind Pashu National Park. At the evening, you'll arrive in Sankri. At Sankri, spend the night in tents or a guesthouse. At Sankri, spend the night in tents or a guesthouse. You will be picked up from Dehradun Railway Station at 06:30 a.m. today and transported to Sankri. The meal plan for today only includes supper, so bring extra cash for lunch on the way.

Day 2 - From Sankri to Taluka to Osla

Your day will begin with a short, rough journey to Taluka, where the road comes to an end. You'll start your journey to Osla from there. You walk along the Supin River's rushing banks, passing through the shadow of walnut, pine, and other trees. Before arriving at Osla Village, you'll drive through various beautiful small settlements. At Osla, you'll spend the night in a tent. Overnight in tents in Osla. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Breakfast will be supplied before you leave for Takula, a packed lunch will be provided the way to Osla, and supper will be given at the Osla campground.

Day 3 - From Osla to Har Ki Dun

You'll hike to Har Ki Dun today. The route climbs gradually and passes past beautiful flower bushes such as orchids and sunflowers. The route ascends far above the Supin River's confluence with the river from Ruinsara Valley. At Har Ki Dun, spend the night in a tent. At Har Ki Dun, spend the night in a tent. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Breakfast will be provided in Osla before you start your journey to Har Ki Dun, followed by a packed lunch on the trail and dinner at the Har Ki Dun campground.

Day 4 - Stay at Har Ki Dun and Explore it

Today you'll spend the day in Har Ki Dun relaxing. You may also go on a hike around the campground if you like. You may hike to Marinda Tal or explore the Himalayan birch woods. You can also get a closer look at the Swargarohini Peak and Jaundhar glacier. At Har Ki Dun, spend the night in a tent. At Har Ki Dun, spend the night in a tent. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Because you'll be spending your day at Har Ki Dun resting, all of your meals will be served there.

Day 5 - From Har ki Dun to Waterfall

Today, you'll return to Osla along the trail, and after a kilometre, you'll turn left into a route that leads to a little bridge. The route eventually leads into the Ruinsara Valley, passing through thick woods. By the afternoon, you'll have arrived to the Waterfall. At the Waterfall, spend the night in a tent. At Waterfall, spend the night in a tent. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Breakfast will be provided at Har Ki Dun before you start your journey to the Waterfall, followed by a packed lunch on the trail and dinner at the Waterfall.

Day 6 - From Waterfall to Ruinsara

You'll hike to Ruinsara Lake today. During the hike, you'll observe how the environment around you changes dramatically, as pine and fir trees give place to birch and rhododendron. Once you've arrived to the lake, you may choose to spend the day resting on the shores or explore the local area. Tents were set up at Ruinsara Lake for the night. At Ruinsara Lake, we slept in tents. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Breakfast will be provided at the Waterfall before you begin your journey to Ruinsara Lake, followed by a packed lunch on the way and dinner at the lake. You'll spend the night by the lake's edge.

Day 7 - From Ruinsara Lake to Seema

You'll get up early today to retrace your ways back to Seema. It's a lengthy trip, but it won't be difficult because it's mostly downhill, save for a small rise you'll encounter along the way. By the afternoon, you'll have arrived at Seema. At Seema, we'll spend the night in tents. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Breakfast will be provided at the Ruinsara Lake before you begin your journey to Seema, followed by a packed lunch on way and supper in Seema.

Day 8 - From Seema to Taluka to Dehradun via Sankri

Today, you'll walk to Taluka, which is a very simple trek over a well-worn path. By the afternoon, you'll arrive at Taluka, where you'll join the transport vehicle that will take you to Sankri. The trip will be rough, but you'll be rewarded with stunning vistas of the region. At Sankri, spend the night in tents or a guesthouse. At Sankri, spend the night in tents or a guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch, and supper are included in today's meal plan. Before starting your journey to Taluka, breakfast will be given at Seema. Dinner will be served in Sankri, and a packed lunch will be served for the trip to dehradun, time to say good bye to new friends and moments.
